10 minute Shake up Exercises

Why focus on just 10 minutes? Does it really make a difference?

Kids should get at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity each day – that’s activity that gets their hearts pumping and bodies moving. However, recent research says that just 21% of boys and 16% of girls currently do this. Evidence shows that 10 minutes or more of activity, performed several times a day to achieve at least 60 minutes in total, is sufficient to maintain good fitness and health

In school-aged children, physical activity can lead to better academic achievement, increased attention span, improved behaviour and self-confidence. It also reduces the risk of developing chronic conditions in later life, such as heart disease or diabetes.

All the Shake Up activities, when performed using the instructions, can be categorised as moderate to vigorous exercise.  Click here for over 50 Disney inspired games to get the kids moving!
