Healthy4Life is a free family healthy lifestyle programme to help children and families make positive lifestyle changes to maintain a healthy weight.
The clubs runs for 10 weeks, once a week after school at locations across North Tyneside. Children will take part in fun sports and activity sessions and families will learn about healthy eating and how to make healthier choices through cookery sessions and food tasting.
If you are concerned about your child’s weight, if you want to refer another family who may benefit from the programme, or would like to know more, contact the Healthy4Life team on 0191 643 7454 or by emailing CHAT@northtyneside.gov.uk.
“I love how enthusiastic it has made my children about healthy eating.”
“It’s been great. The children have seen for themselves what’s better and what’s worse for them. It’s less of a struggle when trying to get them to accept a healthy option. The session is ran by fabulous staff and they have enabled me to attend easily as they are so helpful with my childs issues with anxiety.”
“We loved the team exercises with the children and the other parents.”
“I loved doing exercise in the gym and attending the taster spinning class – my daughter enjoyed the relaxation week.”
“Everyone in our household is benefiting from the things we learn at Healthy4Life. Billy is benefitting more than we could have imagined, he suffers with dyspraxia and ADHD and because of changes we have made Billy is now calmer and sleeps much better. Billy’s dad is also so much healthier from the changes and when you put all of it together our family is healthier and happier and it’s a massive thanks to the lovely staff at Healthy4Life”.
