Small steps to feeling good

Being active is good for physical and mental wellbeing, it’s been proven to make us happier and healthier.

Howfit encourages people of all ages and abilities to follow a plan of simple exercises at home (and no equipment is needed).

Developed by north east consultant physician, Dr Steve Parry, along with personal trainers and physiotherapists – the NHS programme is available online and as a booklet (that can be downloaded) which demonstrates simple exercises to get you moving and improve your health.

There exercises are divided into categories focusing on mobility, strength, cardiovascular health, stability, balance and co-ordination – complete with videos and animations to help you get them right.
