“My doctor recommended the Body Benefits course. I believe the results of blood tests and my lifestyle were the main reasons behind the recommendation.
Sheila, the love of my life, passed away quite suddenly over the Christmas of 2022. From that time, life had not been good. Too much Irish whiskey. Not eating the right food. No regular sleep pattern.
My family have been marvellous ever since this period, but they have families of their own, a fact I keep telling them.
When the course was suggested, I jumped (not very high) at the chance. I was willing to try anything that might improve my lifestyle, both physically and mentally.
From day/evening one of the course, everything was so well organized.
Each week was so informative. Presentations of 'course topics' were so well presented by either Gillian, Nela or James. They were eager to pass on their vast knowledge. I was always left looking forward to the following week.
The physical half of the sessions were so varied. Group walks, yoga, table tennis… And the gym facilities are excellent.
The course is not a 'Slimming World' however, I was so proud to have lost over 9kg/20lbs during our twelve weeks together.
I have a Contours membership. Nick (Tynemouth Gym Instructor) designed a workout schedule for me which has improved my mobility in so many ways. Thanks to him and the Parks gym instructors.
My career was in Her Majesty's Armed Forces, Army. I was a very fit young man however, like a lot of servicemen, my body took a battering over the years. I'm now in my seventies and a little crotchety. I would be happy to recommend the Body Benefits course to anyone considering it. It has improved not only my physical and mental health, but my understanding of how our bodies function.
One of the highlights of the course was making new friendships. The course consisted of females and males of all ages and backgrounds. I think we all had a great time and shared the same objective, our personal wellbeing.
To anyone contemplating the Body Benefits course - why not? Twelve weeks of fun, education, free Contours Membership and free coffee/tea.
