Summer of Cycling 2024: Learn to Ride
Does your child have a bike but hasn’t mastered the art of how to ride it yet?
Learn to Ride courses aim to develop skills and achieve a key lifetime milestone - learning to ride a bicycle!
Suitable for those aged 5+, the free courses are taking place during the summer holidays!
What does the course cover?
- Balancing 
- Gliding 
- Turning 
- Braking 
- Pedalling 
What do they need?
- A roadworthy bicycle - with any stabilisers removed 
- A helmet is not required but is recommended 
- Check the weather forecast prior to the course and wear suitable clothing 
Sessions will take place at Hadrian Leisure Centre (St Peter's Rd, Wallsend, NE28 7LQ) on:
- Monday 22 July: 10.30-11.30am and 1-2pm 
- Monday 29 July: 10.30-11.30am and 1-2pm 
- Friday 23 August: 10.30-11.30am and 1-2pm 
- Friday 30 August: 10.30-11.30am and 1-2pm

Bookings are provisional dependent on interest in the course. Bookings operate on a first come, first serve basis. Once you have made a booking, we will contact you to confirm arrangements.
