Bumps and Buggies Walk

A free programme for expectant and new mams wanting to introduce physical activity and learn about a healthy lifestyle - with an invite for baby too!

  • Mondays, 1.15-2.15pm, Richardson Dees Park in Wallsend (meet at The Bandstand). Session cost: Free (with a valid easecard). Fitness level: Beginner.

After you’ve had a baby, being physically active can be daunting. This session is designed to introduce slow and steady ways to be physically active through walking and low intensity exercises. The gentle nature of the session mean it is suitable for pregnant women too.

For pre and postnatal women and their children (aged 18 months and under), the session includes a healthy snack, a weekly recipe and nutritional information on a variety of topics such as food, alcohol, fat, and food labels.

Clearance to begin exercise from your 6-8 week GP check up is required for postnatal women. Please come in comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for the weather.

You need to register for the programme. Once you’re registered, these sessions are available to drop in, with no need to book.

Available June to September, including during school holidays (the first session of 2024 will take place on Monday 3 June).
